As soon as I heard that Shyamalan was directing the film I had my doubts, and I even signed a petition against the company for choosing actors that were completely incorrect appearance-wise for playing the characters.
I am a huge fan of the Nickelodeon series (I own all the episodes on DVD) and even own The Art of the Animated Series book [link] I never even bothered to see the movie, and based on the reviews and reception it got, I made the right move.
Better than the movie.
