We were performing in a wood full of green trees and plants - hard to set on fire - , in the morning, when the weather was not really hot and the air wet. We also carried what is needed to rapidly stop a fire and, speaking from experience, in these conditions it's really hard to start a fire. The fire on the ground was previous attempts which were easily extinguished.

EDIT : We keep secret the thing that's hit (it's nothing alive)
