Oh, man! I still have scars on my shoulders where the sparks hit me. Not so bad, but still... unpleasent.
Anyway, one gets used to it.

ugh yeah, my mom has had a scar on her cornea for 35 years due to a cooking incident; hot oil splattered when a bubble popped and she wasn't standing far enough back.

Unfortunately, it happens. The scars, however, are permanent, but it's better to have one and not be crippled.

scarring can be healed a bit, most would probably go away, if you're willing to remember to rub pure vitamin E Oil on them every hour for a month or two

doing that spared me some naaaasty scarring on my face after a ridiculously nasty crash on my bike (used my face as a brake)
